The road
Summer 1969. A bus full of friends leaves San Francisco for a festival on a farm in upstate New York, three thousand miles away. You have less than a month, a full tank, and a map that changes every time you play.
Cross America
Leave the Haight in a bus that looks like a bread van until you paint it. The road east is different every time you play: diners, communes, county fairs, and towns that would rather you kept driving.
Pick people up
Hitchhikers, runaways, a drifter with a guitar. Everyone you meet has a life of their own, and the ones who climb aboard become your family. Look after them.
Take a trip
When a sheriff shuts the road, go round. Step into the shadow world behind his eyes, where his fears stand as tall as buildings, and find out what he really wants.
Follow the moth
Drawn to light and alive for one summer, the moth is your guide. In a trip it shows you the way. In the real world, only you can see it.
The radio
Six stations on the bus radio, each with its own take on the song everybody’s humming this summer. Turn right to the end of the dial and something answers.
Arrow keys go from station to station. Hold Shift to tune between them.
RadioOff
Press a station to switch the radio on. It plays sound.
